Why Do We Want An Apology?
First and foremost, we want an apology because it has hurt people. Their careless actions reinforce harmful stereotypes to the people affected/involved. Even if Oh My Girl has done things out of ignorance, the fact that it has hurt people will never change. An apology should show that WM and Oh My Girl themselves recognize that what they did was wrong and that they have learned from it.
Second, the mental health of Miracles aren’t in good condition because of the direct attacks they get everyday on stan Twitter. In fact, many of us have decided to leave stan Twitter for good because of the constant bullying we’re getting.
Third, we’re not only worried about the Miracles’ mental health, but we’re also worried about the girls’ mental health. Since they’re active on social media nowadays, it’s given that they can see all of the malicious comments directed towards them. WM should really take action for this because for every time WM/the girls make mistakes, their reputation globally gets worse. By ignoring our concerns, the girls and the fans are the ones who suffer.
On top of that, we also expect that WM would do something to protect Oh My Girl from the malicious comments and death threats they receive every single day. We believe that giving an apology would make the company competent and capable of protecting their artists because that’s an area where they are lacking.
Lastly, as fans, we are worried about Oh My Girl’s future and success. It is undeniable that Oh My Girl is successful domestically, however, international success is quite a different story. The difference between who the girls really are and how Kpop Twitter painted them to be is night and day. Contrary to what some K-Miracles are afraid of, Intl-Miracles like us believe that by offering an apology, it won’t damage the success that they have right now in Korea. In fact, giving an apology would guarantee their success in both levels, because many are curious about them. But due to their image on Twitter, it’s holding people back. Even though WM has been ignoring our emails for a long time now, that doesn’t mean we already gave up on making them apologize. With great numbers, we’re positive that we will be heard out someday, and that is only possible through your help.
